This requirement is based on Policy/Program Memorandum No. 150 (PPM 150), an official policy of the Ontario Ministry of Education. This policy regulates the sale of food and beverages in Ontario public schools and aims to promote nutritious choices for all students. Specifically, it stipulates that at least 80% of products offered for sale must be healthy choices rich in essential nutrients and low in fat, sugar, and sodium.
